Flying the LUN :

If you start on a runway, use the slew function to move to a body of water nearby. Maybe sure you press F1 to ensure the aircraft is down in the water before you release the slew.

Go to full power, flaps are not necessary. Once at around 100kts, pull back on the stick to get airborne and then forward to level off at about 50ft. Raise the ventral deflector by pressing the landing gear key (G). Use the TRIM to make altitude adjustments, not the elevators, these are only used to get you off the water and into ground effect. You should eventually stabilise at around 40 or 50ft and cruise at around 400 kts. The correct attitude is totally parallel with the water, if you have a nose-up attitude there will be a tendency to stall and you will also not be able to see where you are going ! Turning at high speed is not recommended, although some course adjustment can be made with rudder input. The aircraft has no speed brakes so slowing down will take some time, allow for a long distance to stop. Lowering the flaps should add some drag at higher speeds, but beware the downward pitch this will bring about.
